Summary
As part of the Smart Connected Real Estate (SCRE) Division you will work with clients to advise, design, install and service supervisory host systems including the integration of open platform direct digital control, lighting and security systems to achieve intelligent buildings with high energy efficiency utilizing a Total Building Information System.

Responsibilities
The Applications Technologist is responsible for duties which include but are not limited to: 

•  Integrating, HVAC controls, lighting controls, card access and video surveillance systems.
• Delivering Network Building Management Solutions via cabling systems including HVAC controls, lighting controls, security (card access and VOIP), energy, utility monitoring and billing, fire alarm monitoring in multiple buildings and/or campuses controlled by remote IP connection.
• Writing detailed products specifications.
• Testing products and providing customer support on and offsite
•  Delivering product training  and technical sales support 

Position Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent knowledge of electrical systems as well as experience in: 

•  Systems operation and  design including DDC design
•  Application engineering and programming
•  Lighting systems application engineering
• Open operable interface design
• LonWorks, BacNet and Modbus protocols
• Webpage design tools such as Corel Designer, Dream Weaver, Photoshop, SolidWorks (desirable)
• Competency in the field of wiring, commissioning and troubleshooting (i.e. input out device circuitry, 4-20ma, 0-10vdc analog and digital circuit wiring, networks, structured cabling/IP, BacNet IP/MSTP, ModBus IP/RTU, LonWorks and RS485/422/232).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years industry related experience preferred
• Formal education as an electrical technologist, electrician or engineer from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills, and ability to prioritize and multi task
• Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to project a positive service based attitude
• Excellent proficiency in required computer programs including MS Office applications
